Beloved Actor The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a statement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive Television Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a social organizer known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of well-known programs, including:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series over nearly a decade.
His work in movies are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.
Pat Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
