Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Individuals in His Care

Prosecutors have stated that a former doctor now faces charges for performing assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.

Details of the Serious Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

One senior CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Breakdown of Offences

The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences comprise:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
  • 17 counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • One count of attempted penetrative assault.

Police have asked individuals with information to get in touch with the investigating team.
