19 of Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, managing just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.
This marks his initial championship following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface from that period of 2023.
Success also indicates the Russian has secured twenty-one championships at 21 various events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my children at once, so to win a trophy is particularly special," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
His retrieving approach and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had caused commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the highest level was finished.
However the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
He recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players traded breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
The opponent rescued 4 initial chances in a tight deciding set before the champion broke to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, he earned the win with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman unable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
